Vegan Cacao and Maple Porridge


It's no secret that I have a massive sweet tooth.
During the colder months porridge is my go-to breakfast. Its quick, it's warming and it's filling. Early mornings and I don't work well together - I'm normally still rubbing the sleep dust from my eyes and desperately searching for coffee, so a simple and easy breakfast is essential for me.

I typically just throw my oats into a pan with water and have it plain, which is the fastest but also the boring option. Recently I have been switching things up and trying out new ways to make my porridge more interesting in the mornings. I have fallen in love with this autumnal inspired recipe, perfect for those who love a sweeter breakfast. 

What you'll need 

Steel cut oats
dairy free milk
water
teaspoon of Cacao powder
teaspoon of Maple syrup 
cacao nibs 

Heat up a pan and throw in your oats, enough water to cover the oats and a splash of milk. When the liquid starts to bubble add in the cacao powder and mix. Once the oats are at your desired texture, take the oats off the heat and plate up. Sprinkle over your cacao nibs and maple syrup, and you're ready to enjoy!
